Tara Aysha Panesar is a PhD researcher in ecological anthropology and heritage studies and an experienced museum professional.

Her doctoral project, From the Kışlak to the Yayla looks at migration, animal husbandry and subsistence amongst transhumant pastoralists in Southern Türkiye, through the lens of ecological anthropology and heritage studies. Panesar seeks to understand the everyday material culture and technologies of mobile pastoralists to document how human-environment relationships have changed according to social, ecological and economic pressures in the area.

Tara is based at the University of Leicester School of Museum Studies under the supervision of Professor Sandra Dudley.
